Advertising Sales Specialist
Schedule: 3 days per week/10+ hours per week (around class schedule)
Commission-based compensation
Pay: Hourly
Advertising Sales Specialist is responsible for generating revenue for the State News Media Group operations. Tasks include finding and maintaining prospective clients, advertising and marketing sales, pitching ideas to clients, and working in tandem with the advertising and design teams to create in-depth advertising campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS
Enrolled as a full-time student at Michigan State University (12+ credit hours)
Proficiency in Basecamp, Canva, Slack, and Google Workspace or any other cloud-based software platforms
Understand the type of advertorial content apt to resonate with the Spartan communit.y
Strong communication, attention to detail, persistence, negotiation and sales skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Aid TSN in meeting its monthly benchmarks for revenue generation.
Ensure the longevity of TSN by finding, creating and maintaining relationships with businesses, organizations and other entities in the greater Lansing area.
Promote and sell print, digital, newsletter and social media ad placements.
Understand and expand client needs in order to maximize campaign reach, impact and ROI.
Work with the advertising and business director to assemble fully realized advertising pitches based on a client’s campaign objectives.
Collaborate with the design team to bring client ads to life.
Work events that promote TSN.
Attend weekly business team meetings.
Maintain regular newsroom office hours as determined by the advertising and business director.
