Newsroom - Investigative & Special Project Reporter
Pay: Weekly Rate (1-2 stories per week, 3-4 days in the newsroom)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrolled as a full-time student at Michigan State University (12+ credit hours)
- Understand the type of news content apt to resonate with Spartan community
- Strong writer, interviewer
- Able to meet deadline
- Worked at State News at least 2 semesters
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Produces stories related to MSU that are deeper and more thoroughly reported than regular beat coverage.
- Collaborates and communicates often with visual journalists on each story to help create the most engaging content.
- Lead FOIA staff member
- When possible, works with fellow reporters to provide guidance on their stories.
- Maintains journalistic ethics and social media ethics.
- Creates stories that are informative, interesting, fair and accurate.
