Pay: Per-Content Rate (1 article per week, 1 day in the newsroom)
QUALIFICATIONS
Enrolled as a full-time student at Michigan State University (12+ credit hours)
Understand the type of news content apt to resonate with the Spartan community
Strong writer, interviewer
Able to meet deadlines
Worked at State News at least 2 semesters
JOB DESCRIPTION
Create their own individual commentary articles weekly.
Write editorials as part of a rotation.
Participates in every editorial board meeting and contributes ideas for editorials.
Maintains regular newsroom office hours as documented by the managing editor.
Attends all required meetings
Understands name will be included in editorials
Works with visual desk to brainstorm and consider potential visuals for each story.
