Pay: Per-Assignment Rate (2-3 stories per week, 2 days in the newsroom)

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Enrolled as a full-time student at Michigan State University (12+ credit hours)

• Understand the type of news content apt to resonate with the Spartan community

• Strong writer and interviewer

• Able to meet deadlines

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Produces content related to different fashion-centered stories. This could include:

  • Online trends

  • Fashion-related events at MSU

  • Features about students regarding fashion

  • Include coverage of products and health and beauty

  • Follow/cover MSU fashion influencers

• Looks in unique places for event stories, such as posters, flyers, social media, and word of mouth.

• Collaborates and communicates often with visual journalists on each story to help create the most engaging content.

• Maintains journalistic ethics and social media ethics.

• Creates stories that are informative, interesting, fair, and accurate.

• Maintains regular newsroom office hours as documented by the managing editor.
